JP maintains a sense of humor no matter what comes his way. He was knocked out of the first round of singles qualifying this year at the US Open by Tobias Kamke of Germany. He decided to stay upbeat and enjoy New York City to the fullest. One of his first stops was experiencing this chess match in the park. In JP’s own words, when asked if he won: “I got absolutely waxed by this guy. He’s been playing for 20 years and was trash talking me the whole time!”
Last night the US Open provided tickets for players and guests to the Broadway musical, Wicked. It was a great way to enjoy a night off and have some much needed fun. Thanks to the US Open for providing a great experience.
JP will be taking a short time off at the University of Tennessee to train and consider his upcoming schedule. (Updated schedule posted in 2016 Schedule/Results in Menu)
