JP Smith and Matt Reid captured their 7th doubles title yesterday in Toyota, Japan at the Dunlop Srixon World Challenge. It was Smith’s 20th title on the ATP Challenger Tour. This pairing advanced to the final by winning their last three matches in straight sets. Their heavy serving, coupled with solid net play, proved to be an unbeatable combination this week.
The Toyota Challenger Title gives them a great chance to book a spot in the doubles main draw of the 2017 Australian Open. Best of luck guys!
Smith and Hubble in Yokohama Keio Challenger
JP Smith and Adam Hubble are playing in the Yokohama Keio $50K Challenger together this week. In their first round doubles match they faced Yuki Bhambri IND and Hiroki Moriya JPN. Smith and Hubble got the win with a score of 76(2) 63, but from the handshake at the net, it’s obvious that the match was enjoyable for both teams.
Smith and Hubble face Mao-Xin Gong CHN and Hsien-Yin Peng TPE today, not before 1:30 local time. The match will be streamed on the ATP Livestream Site.
JP Smith at the Yokohama Keio Challenger

JP Smith began the first of two weeks in Japan at the Yokohama $50K Keio Challenger today on outdoor hard courts. He will play the Toyota $50K Challenger on indoor carpet next week. Smith has entered singles and will also play doubles with Adam Hubble both weeks.
Smith defeated his first round opponent Liang-Chi Huang of Taipei 62 60, and will face Yoshihito Nishioka in the second round. Nishioka is the 7 seed and is ranked World No. 164. Smith and Hubble face Yuki Bhambri IND and Hiroki Moriya JPN in their first round of doubles.
